Christopher Kane hinted at things to come in his A/W 2011-12 collection {in store now}, where the final looks he sent down the runway were all iridescent sequin shimmer and wave like swirls. And now it seems lots more designers have caught the nymph like bug. Whatever you prefer, a literal take as shown and previously blogged about at Thom Browne or Kaiser Karl's exclamation "no mermaids" backstage after his under water seascape set show {Florence Welsh singing in a giant clam shell aside} there is no mistaking that the mermaid is a new muse for spring 2012.
