Ladies who lunch {and dinner}...

I have had the last three days off work as a little post catwalks holiday me time {much needed}.  On Wednesday I was treated to a delicious lunch at Miss R's flat with one of our oldest friends Nicola and her adorable little boy Oscar.  As ever Miss R cooked up a storm!  We started with a salad of beetroot, tomatoes, goats cheese, pea shoots and candied pecans {LOVE} and then we had a mushroom and girolle bruschetta which was divine.  Miss N brought a beautiful home made pavlova for dessert, the meringue of which was made using eggs from her chickens, it was a lovely end to a delicious lunch.  Then last night Miss R, Mr R, Mr B and myself went over to east London for dinner at our friends Karin & David's.  After a morning spent wandering around the antique market at Spitalfields with Mummy Bijoux and then lunch, a little more browsing buying - I purchased an authentic vintage biker with quilted shoulder and elbow patch design detailing which I am very happy with and have been searching for ages for, it was a lovely ending to another fun day off.  Miss K served grilled haloumi {forgotten how much I enjoy this cheese} with green beans, mange tout, pomegranate and a vanilla balsamic as a starter followed by a home made spinach and tomato tart, roasted root vegetables and a Swedish slaw - so lovely.  Dessert was a selection of five different cakes from Patisserie Valerie, which I was given the job of cutting each into five portions so we could all try each flavour.  Mr D was done after the second, Mr R after the third and the girls all managed to sample the fourth before fullness kicked in.  The fifth will make a delicious morning treat today for our gorgeous hosts.  Anyway, I could very much get used to this kind of life...
