Bijoux Beauty - Pearl Brow...

Love these statement stick-on pearl brows reminiscent of the Chanel A/W 2012 jewel encrusted brows. Chanel's beauty influence knows no bounds as they are also cleary inspired by their S/S 2012 'pearls as makeup' applied as ear, eyebrow and nose studs.

Sunday Supper Club Sorbet...

On Sunday Mr J and I hosted a little Sunday night Supper club and I made my first ever dark chocolate sorbet.  I thought I would share it with you.  As regular readers know I am a bit of a baker but fancied something less filling and more refreshing  for desert, especially as the summer sun decided to show itself in London and temperatures are on the way up!  After a bit of internet research I went with a recipe which I tweaked and the results considering I a) don't have an ice-cream maker and b) substituted ingredients and made it up a bit along the way were pretty delicious!  All you need to re-create is 200g of good quality dark chocolate, I used Lindt 70% (Miss R's favourite), 250g of caster sugar, I used golden caster and added a vanilla pod, scraping the seeds into the melted chocolate mixture after I let the whole pod infuse the sugar syrup, 600ml of water and I chose to omit the suggested 50g of cocoa powder. Essentially you just melt the sugar into the water to make a syrup then pour onto the finely chopped chocolate to melt and churn.  If, like me you are sans ice cream maker simply pop into a magimix and blend, freeze, re-blend and freeze.  The result; a melt in the mouth sorbet that tastes as rich and creamy as ice cream without the dairy!

Magical McQueen...

Firstly a massive sorry for the severe lack of blog posts over the last 6 weeks. Lots has been going on in the world of Bijoux, an impromptu / emergency flat escape courtesy of a menagerie of unwanted pests for myself {the joys of renting in Londres}, working on my friends wedding dress for her June 30th big day {cue the largest amount of lace applique I will potentially ever do} and also sourcing styling props for a special project I am working on which will also be revealed in June. Miss R is potentially becoming a home owner for the first time {eek - tres exciting} as well as being featured in Marie Claire's June 2012 edition in an article about weddings! Speaking of which Miss R and her husband will be two on the 24th July and the 2nd wedding anniversary tradition is cloth, so I need to get thinking about ideas for their gift?! Anyway I digress, after lusting over some of the exquisite gowns on show at the MET gala last night in NY{namely Beyonce's amazing post baby body in Givenchy Couture complete with degrade royal purple feather hem - oh my} Florence Welsh rocked the three tiered dandelion dress from Sarah Burton's A/W 2012 Alexander McQueen collection.  Also spotted her gorgeous bouquet dress from the McQ show on Victoria Justice. So whilst we are on the subject of designer dress spotting from the red carpet I thought I would share this magical backstage video below - enjoy!
