Archive Bijoux...

A couple of weeks ago we visited the same Antique fair where I had met this lovely man who services gramophones {several months ago}.  We went to collect my newly refurbished wind up picnic gramophone and of course to have a look around.  Mike {my new best friend} has been an avid collector of gramophones and old 78's and had kindly sorted some out for me to buy from him as I need to get my collection underway and am a little clueless as to what to look for.  I got all of the above records for £40 which was an absolute steal.  Titles worth a mention are Elvis - All Shook Up and Hard Headed Woman, Diana by Paul Anka, Why Do Fools Fall In Love - The Teenagers, In The Mood - Fox Trot - Glenn Miller and his Orchestra, Rock Around the Clock - Bill Haley and his Comets and Why Don't You Do Right by Benny Goodman and his Orchestra - to name but a few!

Also pictured above - 16 jam jars bought for 20p each were the perfect glasses for Pimms and Ginger ale at the hen do {again - photos to follow}, Oliver Twist book, printed in 1890 - 20p , 2x sweetie jars -20p each, mother of pearl handle cheese knife - 20p, smaller glass some - £3 and finally these gorgeous Blue Topaz, CZ, White and Yellow Gold vintage earrings £20, which I LOVE!
As you know I am also always on the look out for taxidermy glass domes to house some of my more extra special pairs of shoes.  Notably my exquisite Miu Miu platform Mary Janes that I recently purchased to complete my bridesmaid outfit!  However the prices of all that we saw were either far too expensive for my budget or too small.  Anyway, Miss R spotted this dome that was missing its wooden stand and had a crack at the base on one end.  We thought we would ask how much it was in any case.  Well, when the man said 'my best price is £6' I snapped it up, after all what is a little crack when you are faced with a bargain like that!  I knew I would be able to do something with it for that price.  When I got it home and discovered it was also large enough to house my favourite pair of Westwood's I was very pleased!
