And finally (phew)...

...the day would not be complete without our first dance as Mr & Mrs....
P.S. The evening party and after party back at our rented apartment will be left to your imaginations, lets just say by then our heads were all fizzy with Champagne.

The cake...

We knew we did not want a traditional wedding cake and as Mr R claims he is not a cake eater it was left for me to decide. Of course this was one of the easiest decisions of the entire day, the cake would obviously have to be my favourite 'Carrot Cake'. Miss J came to the rescue at the last minute and offered to bake it for us. This was of course an offer I could not refuse, with Miss J's adaptations of the traditional recipe to involve roasted pecans and orange infused frosting. It was a three tiered carrot cake masterpiece as you can see below. I decorated it with beautiful pink peonies...divine!! P.S. I love this last photo, thank you to wonderful Mr Coshan xx

Throwing my bouquet...

This was a tradition I was very excited to include in our day, amazingly my dear friend Miss E whom I had secretly wished to catch the bouquet did. It was brilliant!!

Lounging in the sunshine...

The one element I had decided not to worry about at all from the very beginning was the weather and how lucky we were, it was perfect. Here are friends and family enjoying the sunshine. All that was missing were my beautiful vintage re-upholstered candy stripe deckchairs. The one prop we forget...boo hoo!! They will have to debut at a summer party in the park next year I think. I will blog about there transformation soon, as you can probably tell I was rather pleased with my handiwork (which as Miss J will attest is usually a little haphazard to say the least) and rather gutted I forgot them. After some firm but neccessary words from Miss J I had to move on, forget about the lovely chairs and get on with the rather large task at hand - the transformation of the barn.
This photo above is one of my favourite photos from the day of my Mum and her sister my lovely Auntie R.

The big day (Part 2)...

Sorry, sorry, sorry for the huge gap in finishing the wedding posts. What can I say I'm a rubbish blogger. Sorry To Miss J who has been chasing me to finish this for weeks....sorry :) She is ready to add lots of new posts and I too have a few posts to add, a day trip to Paris and a weekend in Whitstable, photos and must visit places to come very soon. Anyway this was us arriving at the reception. I'm wondering now whether my handmade windmillls should have been facing this direction for the purpose of the photograph but loved that they welcomed everyone when they arrived happily spinning in the breeze. Thank you to Mark for re-assembling and erecting them at the barn.
