So wrong they are right? I haven't quite decided yet. Maybe I am still alittle tipsy from last night's celebration or maybe Marc has worked his magic again, making something that would usually be considered wrong cool? Loving the pearlised leather though, hmmmmm....
Last night Miss R and myself celebrated the birthday in our local with some of our closest friends, Mr R and Bay of course {who was rocking a rather fetching pink neckerchief}. The night before I baked one of my signature flourless chocolate cakes at the wonderful William and Siouxsie's flat as I am sans oven at my postage stamp size flat! As ever le cake did it's trademark trick of coming out of the oven looking lovely and tall and then collapsing into a cracked volcano-esque mess, but hey nothing some soft fruits couldn't hide and it did taste good - even if I do say so myself! Special thanks to my glamourous assistant Aimee who helped me cut the cake and make each slice look semi presentable, no mean feat after a couple of glasses of white wine!
Caps. Discuss? I have never been a massive cap fan but it looks as if the sports inspired headwear is having a bit of a renaissance if the NY catwalks are anything to go by. Great for bad hair days, yes. Bad if you decide to remove mid wear and are left with hat-hair. I bet they are going to grow on me though. Spotted at Victoria Beckham's 'Sporty Spice' styled show as well as Karen Walker and Givenchy's ladies on the mens Spring 2012 catwalk as well as their Resort 2012 presentation. Really like the Alexandre Herchcovitch half head version below. Watch this space.
Dazed & Confused turn Twenty with an anniversary cover starring Givenchy the great Ricardo Tisci and two of his muses Mariacarla Boscono and Saskia de Brauw as well as male model Chris Moore, shot by Matthew Stone and guest art directed by the man himself. Happy Twentieth Year Dazed - oh to be 20 again....sigh!
I thought I would just let the images do the talking with this post. That and I have a to-do list as long as my arm before our birthday / LFW begins on Friday {no excuse I know}! In short, after La Gaga's nymph like incarnation in her 'You and I' video it got me thinking about other mermaids and merman. I also wondered how long it would be before we saw some sort of nod to this idea on the catwalks. I wasn't expecting it to come from NYFW but I spotted this sequin tail at Thom Browne today, so maybe there will be more...
